In the mid-sixties, when I was very young, I had to accompany my father Jonas (the younger one) and grandfather Björs-Jonas to the village sauna. It was up towards Kåsjö, if I remember correctly. There the farmers (and others) sat in the village once a week and buzzed.
An interview with Anders and Gunilla confirmed that there was a sauna in Kåsjö that grandfather used to use, but it was private but could be used as a payment of one (1) krone. There was also a real communal village sauna in Säljesta (which still exists in 2023), which was also used occasionally.
As the farmers became fewer and fewer, this way of meeting and buzzing once a week did not become natural, if even possible. It's so cool to have been a part of it once!
